Writing Prompt: Blood Is Thicker Than Water

Have you heard the proverb “blood is thicker than water”? It’s usually used to indicate that your family is, and should always be, more important than any other person or thing in your life.

Is that true for you? Why or why not?

  1. God should be first in our life and all other things will be added unto us. Having put God first has allowed me many blessing. Our family has grown, to not only include the children of my flesh, but any child in need of God’s love. I have “adopted” many children into our family over the years and have treated them no less than my own flesh and blood. “To those whom much is given much is expected.” God has blessed us and we in turn give of ourselves and his love so that others might also have. It is not always easy but God didn’t say that it would be. Is blood thicker than water? Did Christs blood on the cross not provide us with salvation? Did He not say, he who drinks of the living water shall never thirst? It is his blood and his water that makes our family one.
